No1 Cromer

About Us

The Beginnings

No1 Cromer, a culinary landmark in the seafood industry, traces its origins back to Spencer Gray’s family heritage in fishing since 1842. Spencer, who founded Cromer Shellfish at 17, later embraced the concept of a fish and chips venture, thus creating No1 Cromer. This endeavor flourished, particularly with the collaboration of Michelin-starred chef Galton Blackiston and Tracy Blackiston. Since its inception, No1 Cromer has evolved significantly, from overwhelming popularity at its opening to recent refurbishments. Our innovative approach and focus on locally-sourced ingredients have propelled Upstairs at No1 to new culinary heights, earning prestigious accolades. With continuous improvements and upcoming exciting developments, No1 Cromer stands as a testament to exceptional seafood, innovation, and a commitment to an unparalleled dining experience.
